Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited's Youth Link Apprenticeship Graduation was held on Monday, May 30, 2011 at 15:30hrs at the Pegasus Hotel Guyana, Seawall Road, Kingston, Georgetown.
Over the past seven months the Apprentices were attached to the Bank's Branches and benefited from professional development in office procedures, personal development, banking operations, customer service and computing. The programme also included a community outreach styled Care-A-Van which allowed the Apprentices interaction with the young and the elderly. Additionally, the Apprentices were afforded the opportunity for group interaction and the development of social skills when they were treated to a day of relaxation on the Field Trip.
The Graduation programme included a feature address which was delivered by the Honourable Manzoor Nadir, Minister of Labour; entertainment and presentations of certificates and special performance awards to the Apprentices.
The Special Performance Awards were presented as follows:
Valedictorian - Erica Singh
Customer Service Award - Lashawna Jupiter
Outstanding Performance in Attendance, Punctuality and Attitude Award – Lawrence Edwards
Most Congenial Person Award - Lawrence Edwards
Best Speaker Award - Veadwattie Rajroop.
The Youth Link Apprenticeship Programme was first introduced in Guyana in 2008 and this graduation exercise concluded the third year of the Apprenticeship programme which commenced in October 2010.
