Another batch of Apprentices become part of the Republic Bank family under its Power to Make a Difference umbrella, the Power to Learn and Succeed.
The fifth Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited's Youth Link Apprenticeship Programme was launched on Monday, October 15, 2012 at the Republic Bank Head Office, New Market Street, Georgetown. The programme commenced at 16:00h.
Started over two decades ago at Republic Bank Limited, Trinidad and Tobago and introduced in Guyana in 2008, the programme sought to bridge the gap between the end of the participants' school life and the start of their career. Through the Apprenticeship, participants are enabled to be more marketable in their career pursuits and are also offered the tools and insights that they can only get on the job.
The Apprenticeship programme is geared to guide the apprentices through a process of personal and professional growth and includes facets that when combined, will teach the youths valuable skills for professional and social development.
Over the past four years ninety-two young men and women enjoyed the experience of being part of the working world over a seven month period.
The 2012/2013 Programme welcomed a new batch of twenty-nine Apprentices who over the next seven months will be exposed to both classroom and on-the-job training. They will also, through the 'Care-A-Van' be introduced to the element of care and compassion for the less fortunate. A day of fun and relaxation at a specially selected location will also be part the Youth Link Experience.
