Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited’s Youth Link Apprenticeship Graduation was held on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 16:00hrs at the Pegasus Hotel Guyana, Seawall Road, Kingston, Georgetown.
Over the past seven months the Apprentices were attached to the Bank’s Branches and benefited from professional development in office procedures, personal development, banking operations, customer service and computing. The programme also included a community outreach styled Care-A-Van which allowed the Apprentices interaction with persons with disability. Additionally, the Apprentices were afforded the opportunity for group interaction and the development of social skills when they were treated to a day of relaxation on the Field Trip.
The Graduation programme included a feature address which was delivered by the Honourable Manzoor Nadir, Minister of Labour; entertainment and presentations of certificates and special performance awards to the Apprentices.
The Special Performance Awards were presented to the Valedictorian, Steve Joseph. The Customer Service Award and the Outstanding Performance in Attendance, Punctuality and Attitude Award were received by Renesha Gilford, while the Most Congenial Person Award went to Amanda Pereira. Tiwari Ramratan received the Best Speaker Award.
The Youth Link Apprenticeship Programme was first introduced in Guyana in 2008 and this graduation exercise concluded the second year of the Apprenticeship programme which commenced in October 2009.
