The Power To Learn and Succeed
The Graduation Ceremony for the Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited's Youth Link Apprenticeship Programme was held on Monday, May 28, 2012 at 15:30hrs at the Pegasus Hotel Guyana, Seawall Road, Kingston, Georgetown.
The Republic Bank Youth Link Apprenticeship Programme commenced October 2011 and over the past seven months gave the Apprentices the unique opportunity of early insight into the work environment, a boost for the recipients' marketability as they embark on their individual career pursuits.
The group benefited from professional development in office procedures, personal development, banking operations, customer service and computing and was assigned across the Bank's branch network. The programme also included a community outreach styled Care-A-Van which this year exposed the group to a period of care giving with the children at the Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre and an interactive session on First Aid at the Guyana Red Cross Society. Additionally, there was also time for group interaction and the development of social skills during a day of fun and relaxation with a guided tour of the Guyana Heritage Museum and an afternoon of fun and relaxation at Pandama Retreat.
The Feature Address at the Graduation Ceremony was delivered by the Honourable Jennifer Webster, Minister of Human Services and Social Security.

The Youth Link Apprenticeship Programme was first introduced in Guyana in 2008 primarily to bridge the gap between the end of the participants' school life and the start of their career. This graduation exercise concluded the fourth year of the Apprenticeship programme which commenced in October 2011.
