The Youth Link Apprenticeship Programme is an excellent opportunity for young school leavers to gain an insight into the demands that will be placed on them in the business place, thereby giving the participants a competitive edge in what is still an extremely tight job market.
Republic Bank Limited is committed and proud to continue its involvement with young people. Several secondary school principals are invited to nominate up to four (2) students who, in the opinion of the Principal, would best benefit from this Programme, provided that they satisfy all the criteria set out below:
Criteria for Nomination
The student must be interested in participating in the Programme and should be from the Business Studies Stream in the Fifth Form, having done subjects such as: Principles of Accounts, Principles of Business, Economics, English Language, Mathematics, Office Procedures, Typewriting etc.
The student must be a school leaver of the current year between the ages of 16-19 years.
The student should possess at least five (5) CXC subjects which must include English and Mathematics and subjects from the Business study stream.
Each applicant must complete an application form and attach recommendation letters as required on the reverse of the application form. Incomplete applications will not be acknowledged.
Nominations should be forwarded with a covering letter from the school.
The Closing Date for receipt of nominations is 30th June of the current year. Late applications will not be considered.
Applicants will be required to participate in an assessment exercise to be held at the Bank’s Promenade Court (Head Office).
It should be noted at the end of the apprenticeship, Republic Bank does not guarantee employment to the apprentices, and it is important that this is fully appreciated from the outset.
