Light It Up Blue! Autism Awareness Walk 2019

The Step by Step Foundation under the Patronage of Her Excellency, First Lady of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, Sandra M. Granger in collaboration with Republic Bank, hosted the fourth annual Light It Up Blue! Autism Awareness Walk on Sunday, April 28, 2019.

The annual walk seeks to create awareness for Autism in Guyana and helps to raise funds for the Step by Step Foundation.

More than three hundred persons participated in the Walk, including Her Excellency Sandra M. Granger, Staff and Students of the Step by Step Foundation; Senior Management and Staff of Republic Bank; as well as individuals and company representatives.

Over $1,300,000: from t-shirt sales and donations were raised for the Step by Step Foundation as they continue to help change the lives of those affected by Autism, through the Step by Step School. The total funds raised will be donated to the Step by Step Foundation by the end of June 2019.

The Walk commenced and ended at the Promenade Gardens and was followed by a brief programme with Remarks from the First Lady, the Step by Step Foundation, the Ministry of Education and Republic Bank. The event wrapped up with a zumba session.

The generous support of participants will help a number of individuals and their families living with Autism daily.
