Port-of-Spain, Trinidad; April 22, 2013: Revitalization of the Grenadian economy and the identification of large scale, sustainable, revenue generating projects would be the primary focus of a one-day Business Summit in Grand Anse on Tuesday 23rd April. Spear-headed by Republic Bank Limited, the Summit will bring together in one place, 25 of the most powerful and respected business leaders in the Caribbean, along with representatives of various international development agencies and senior government officials in Grenada.
Chairman of Republic Bank Limited, Ronald Harford, who is leading the delegation, describes the one day summit as a, "regional think tank" that will discuss and agree on key action items in which the private sector can engage, in order to turn the Grenadian economy around. The Summit is being held at the Spice Island Beach Resort in Grand Anse, Grenada.
Themed, "Fast Forward Together, Reigniting Growth", the Summit is aimed at stimulating private sector activity, so as to re-position Grenada on a positive growth trajectory, and will focus specifically on the key drivers of the island's future private sector led growth, including tourism, leisure, marine, agriculture, health and medical services.
Prime Minister of Grenada, The Honourable Dr. Keith Mitchell, made the announcement of Republic Bank's involvement in co-ordinating the Summit, while delivering the country's 2013 budget presentation to Parliament last Monday, and will officially open the proceedings tomorrow.
Executive Director of the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business, Professor Miguel Carillo, will facilitate discussions at the Summit.
Republic Bank is pleased to be the lead arranger of this very important summit and looks forward to the event proving a catalyst for increased private sector investment in Grenada.
