Republic Bank Special Olympics 2009

The Republic Bank Special Olympics 2009 was held on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at the Guyana Defence Force Ground, Camp Ayanganna.

Special Olympians from Georgetown, Linden and Berbice competed in various athletic events. Successful athletes may later qualify for the 2011 World Summer Special Olympics in Greece.

Republic Bank Youth Link Apprentices and staff were on hand to tend the general needs and comforts of participants. Managers also presented medals and ribbons.

The day was completed with the formation of a  Peace Circle which symbolized Unity and Equality amongst the participants, official and volunteers.
