The 17th Republic Bank Mashramani Panorama Steel Band Competition was held on Wednesday, February 19th, 2025 at the Kingston Beach, Georgetown. Steelpan enthusiasts enjoyed the sounds of seven youth bands and five large bands in keen competition. The event, held annually, showcases the talent and passion of local musicians, drawing crowds from all over to celebrate this unique form of music.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, and as part of its Power to Make a Difference’ initiative, Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited's primary objective is continued sustainability of the art form.
During the past seventeen (17) years, youths have had a greater appreciation for steel pan music and are becoming more involved in their school bands. This is evident by the increasing number of youth bands in the competition each year.
This year competitors delivered captivating performances, showcasing their exceptional skill and talent leaving the audience thoroughly entertained.

Youth Bands
• 1st Place – West Demerara Secondary School
• 2nd Place – Berbice High School
• 3rd Place – Buxton Pride Steel Orchestra
Large Bands
• 1st Place - Kunjaz Steel Orchestra
• 2nd Place – Ansa McAl Parkside Steel Orchestra
• 3rd Place - The Guyana Police Force Steel Orchestra
Additional participants in the Youth Band category included Kunjaz Youth Steel Orchestra, New Amsterdam Multilateral, President's College and Regional Division #6 Police Steel Band. The Large Band category also featured compelling performances from Pangroove Steel Orchestra and The Panamaniacs.
The first Republic Bank sponsored competition was in 2009 and has grown over the years. The Bank’s passion for pan development in Guyana, focuses on providing avenues for the empowerment for our nation’s youth, while sustaining national art forms and our cultural heritage.
