The 2017 top performers in academics were rewarded for their outstanding achievements by Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited at the Annual Power to Make a Difference Academic Achievement Awards Ceremony, held at the Bank’s Head Office, New Market Street, Georgetown on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.
The persons honoured were the best performers at the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA), Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) along with the Best Graduating Students with a Bachelor's Degree in the Faculty of Social Sciences and a Diploma in Banking and Finance from the University of Guyana.
At the presentation ceremony, monetary gifts, plaques and tokens were presented to the following awardees:
- Ms. Saskia Twahir (NGSA)
- Mr. Michael Bhopaul (CSEC)
- Ms. Shannon Woodroffe (CAPE)
- Mr. Elsie Harry (Bachelor’s Degree in the Faculty of Social Sciences)
- Ms. Shania Annirood (Diploma in Banking and Finance)
Among those attending the ceremony were representatives from the Ministry of Education and the University of Guyana, along with the Principals and Class Teachers of the respective schools attended by the awardees for NGSA, CSEC and CAPE.
Congratulations are extended to the five recipients and those who assisted them on their journey towards attaining excellence.
