Academic Excellence Rewarded At The Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited/University Of Guyana Awards 2014

As part of an ongoing multifaceted partnership with the University of Guyana, Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited rewarded the top achievers of the University’s Faculty of Social Sciences and Banking and Finance Diploma Programme.

The newest recipients are:

• Mr. Joel Joseph – won the Republic Bank Limited Chairman's Award for the Best Graduating Student with a Bachelor's Degree in the Faculty of Social Sciences. He was also the recipient of a monetary gift.
• Ms. Nanda Persaud - achieved the Republic Bank Limited Award for the Best Graduating Student with a Diploma in Banking and Finance. A monetary gift was also presented to her.

These awards are a component of the Bank’s Power to Make a Difference social investment initiative, the Power to Learn and Succeed.

The Bank’s partnership with the University also include scholarships; Career Coach to prepare final year students for the world of work; and the provision of Business Journals for the University Library.

This year’s presentation ceremony was held on Thursday, March 05, 2015 at the Republic Bank Limited Head Office, Promenade Court, 155-156 New Market Street, Georgetown and was attended by representatives from the University of Guyana, Ministry of Education and Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited.
